All content on xlokk — including buoy observations, water levels, tides, forecasts, model output, alerts, charts, and maps — is provided for general informational and educational purposes only. It is not professional, nautical, meteorological, or safety advice, and it is not a forecast, warning, or advisory issued by any official authority.

2. Not for Navigation or Safety-of-Life Decisions

xlokk MUST NOT be used as a sole or primary source of information for navigation or for any decision affecting the safety of life or property. The site is not designed, manufactured, or intended for use as, or as part of, any navigation, control, monitoring, or fail-safe system, or for use in any hazardous or safety-critical environment.

Before going on or near the water, and before making any decision based on conditions, you must consult official sources, including the National Weather Service and NOAA, the U.S. Coast Guard, official nautical charts and Notices to Mariners, and NOAA Weather Radio (VHF). Always heed all official watches, warnings, and advisories. When official information differs from anything shown on xlokk, the official information governs.

The site and all content are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including any implied warranties of accuracy, completeness, reliability, timeliness, currency, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not generate the underlying weather, marine, or water-level data. It is aggregated from third-party and government sources that may be delayed, interrupted, incomplete, inaccurate, revised, or unavailable without notice. Buoys and stations go offline, models are imperfect, and feeds fail. We do not independently verify this data and cannot guarantee it.

4. Conditions Change Rapidly

Conditions on the Great Lakes can change quickly and can differ significantly from any observation, forecast, or model shown on xlokk. Localized conditions — in a harbor, near a structure, or at your exact location — may not be represented. No information on this site can substitute for your own direct observation and judgment of conditions in real time.

5. Assumption of Risk

You use xlokk entirely at your own risk. You are solely responsible for assessing conditions and for all decisions and actions you take, including whether, when, where, and how to operate any vessel or undertake any activity at any time.
